About the Role: Boksburg Educational Center is seeking a compassionate and self-motivated Special Needs & Autism Support Tutor to join our team. This role involves working independently with learners on the autism spectrum and those with other developmental or learning differences. The successful candidate will continue with existing individual programs and support plans while creating a structured, engaging, and nurturing learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
•Conduct one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions with children with autism and other special needs.
•Implement individualized learning and behaviour support programs already in place.
•Use visual supports, structured routines, and evidence-based strategies to promote engagement and progress.
•Adapt lessons to each learner’s needs, strengths, and learning style.
•Manage sessions independently and ensure consistency in structure and expectations.
•Communicate regularly with the center’s management about learner progress.
Minimum Requirements:
✓Qualification in Psychology, Education, Special Education, Social Work, or a related field.
✓Experience working with children with autism or special needs (in tutoring, therapy, or classroom settings). ✓Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
✓Excellent communication, patience, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred (Not Required):
•Training or certification in Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA), ABAT, RBT, or similar approaches.
•Familiarity with visual schedules, sensory strategies, and emotional regulation tools.
